All of our trails are different, but they also have lots in common. Tracy
Meet Our Explorers
Discover Your City Trails was created by us, Tracy & Bren, locals who live on the Gold Coast in Australia. In the UK we were both working for the same company in IT but started to notice one another when Tracy regularly hosted quiz nights for the company. Bren made sure his team went along every time and they were very competitive, often winning. It was on one of these nights that Bren finally asked Tracy out and the rest is history.
Loving everything to do with trivia and games, we looked for activities to do on the weekends and found something very similar to this in London. We were in our element, solving clues on our phone whilst being guided around the city we loved to visit, discovering hidden gems, out of the way places and the must-see places.
We were eventually made redundant from our IT jobs, so Tracy decided it was time to head back home to Australia after being in the UK for 10 years. Bren didn’t take much convincing to go with her so he immigrated to the Goldie with her – who wouldn’t?!
Meet Our Explorers
After looking for something similar to satisfy our thirst for a mental challenge whilst exploring our surroundings, we just couldn’t find what we were looking for. That’s when we decided to create our own, and that’s when Discover Your City Trails was born.
We visited each of the cities we have trails in, walking every inch of them to not only capture the fabulous places we all know and love in Oz, but to also find the out-of-the-way places. Finding the right location wasn’t the only thing we had to find, clues had to be written, so matching the places to intelligent, interesting, fun well written clues was also a must.
Once we had the locations and the clues that’s when the hard work began. How do you create a business when you have no background in that sort of thing. That’s where Stu and the boys at Gold Coast Websites came in and turned our dream into reality. They helped us turn clues in a location into Discover Your City Trails and we’re hoping the rest is history.
